DAMIAN TORNESE (CPA)

Principal & Director

Damian Tornese CPA is both the Principal and founder of Optimal Accounting Solutions.

Damian has been in the public practice arena since he completed his university degree at RMIT in 2002. After working for more than 11 years in public practice Damian decided to commence his own practice in 2013 under the brand, Optimal Accounting Solutions. In establishing the practice he wanted to service the accounting, tax and financial services needs of business owners in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. Damian recognises the changing landscape in the accounting profession and understands that the needs and expectations of clients now stretch way beyond conventional accounting and tax compliance services.

Damian brings a wealth of experience to the table and the firm's slogan of 'grow your profits and build your wealth' really captures his objective with clients. He says, "Tax returns and compliance are an important part of our work but we really want to have a positive impact on our client's lives. By helping people grow their business, their profits and their wealth we can help them create a better lifestyle for their families."

He has extensive experience in general taxation matters and delivers advice that is both practical and cost effective. His knowledge of compliance issues including Income Tax, Goods and Services Tax (GST), Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) and other tax related matters is both broad and deep. He recognises the need to provide tax effective advice and has considerable expertise in the areas of negative gearing and tax planning. He is also experienced with business structuring, business development, asset protection, business start-ups, preparation of financial reports as well as management consulting and cash flow management.

You'll find Damian builds strong, trusting relationships with his clients and that has come after years of engaging, consulting and advising clients across a broad range of industry sectors. He is fully committed to maintaining and preserving his high level of professionalism and competency by regularly attending various forms of continued professional development and being active in various networks including a local CPA Discussion Group. This guarantees clients receive the most up to date and relevant advice.

Outside the Office

Damian enjoys spending time with his wife, family and friends. He actively follows Essendon in the AFL, Juventus in the Serie A and Manchester United in the EPL. His hobbies include fishing, boating, ten pin bowling, billiards, tennis and going to the gym. His favourite holiday destination is Rosebud on the Mornington Peninsula.
